B Grade: Cottesloe v Kingsley
Final Score:
Cottesloe: 4.4 (28) v Kingsley: 2.0 (12)
Best on Ground: Charlotte Latsombath (Cottesloe)
Game Report:
It was a hot contest from the moment the ball bounced, with hard tackling and high pressure being applied from both teams a sign of what was to come for the day.
Cottesloe were relentless outside their attacking 50, working hard to create a wall that Kingsley found impossible to break through and the forward line took advantage kicking 4 goals before half time, with 3 coming off the boot of Emilie Goegan.
The territory dominance remained with Cottesloe in the third, however the only score registered was a rushed behind as Elise Van Rooyen and Bethany Zipfel took control with multiple intercept marks and i50 tackles laid between them to control the quarter.
Kingsley finally broke through in the last to register their first score, a goal off the boot of Emma McKenzie, but it was all too late as Cottesloe were comfortably able to hold on to their lead and run away as 16 point winners.
Cottesloe midfield pair Charlotte Latsombath and Lucy Clark were a highlight, with Clarks run and drive was super important in getting the ball forward for her side. While Latsombath provided several game defining moments with her hard tackling and courageous contested marking making her a worthy winner of the Best on Ground medal.
Well done to all.
