Did she get attacked by sharks?

Introducing Shannon Reynolds – Sprint Kayaker

By Sam Baron

One of our shining lights Shannon is a Karratha girl, born and bred in WA.

She is a trained nurse and midwife and is working as a first aid officer in a local high school when not training or competing.

Shan (nickname) enjoys racing both individual and team events. She trains 13 times a week, on the water, in the gym and throws in a couple of crossfit sessions as well just for good measure.

Shan moved to the Gold Coast in Nov 2020 to train with the team and had a nerve-racking encounter with a shark in the murky canals, her coach came to her rescue in the tinny but one of her least favourite experiences.

Two of her Favourite things are Coffee and reading……I would probably think together a pretty great combination as well.

Shan speaks fluent Mandarin and prefers to use three dots instead of commas because…”it just feels more me!”
